Incidental Archive Artist Statement

Incidental Archive presents new work focused on my ongoing practice of utilizing available materials. Paper photographs, contributed by members of the local community, are altered through experimental techniques and elements of chance.

This site-specific feature installation has been designed specifically for this gallery and its community. It incorporates nature photographs submitted by residents of the Sunshine Coast, which are printed, cut or torn, and subsequently reconfigured to form new landscapes and compositions. The work aims to highlight the complexity and richness of the natural environment, while reflecting the subjects that have drawn our attention during the past two years spent close to home. For many, this period marked a renewed engagement with nature and an affirmation of our shared humanity. The installation unifies these individual experiences into one collective expression.
