Much like my process with mixed media, my approach to songwriting is rooted in organic experimentation. I compose melodies by ear and accompany myself on acoustic guitar. Many of my compositions draw inspiration from prairie landscapes and narratives.

Recording initial versions of each song serves as an essential part of the creative process, comparable to working in a sketchbook. These preliminary tracks are recorded simply, using an iPad in my downtown apartment. Occasionally, ambient sounds such as birds, delivery vehicles, or nearby conversations may be audible within these recordings.
